At One With Huey

The weather dictates much of what we don’t want – miserable fishing conditions. Just as we receive a weather-high, it’s often followed by a subsequent low. While we blame Huey (the weather god) for many missed opportunities or cancelled outings, sometimes we need to blame ourselves for not committing in the first place. Sometimes, you just need to harden up, stick to the plan and get deep. Sometimes, this can make you tackle locations you wouldn’t normally venture, use techniques you wouldn’t generally bother with, tie on patterns that have never been out of your box and sometimes, catch fish that you would never have encountered if you had submitted to your inner flaccid-ness. It is the hesitant angler that catches none of the fish, most of the time.
