Friday’s are pretty awesome. For many, it spells the end of the working week, where stress levels ease and relaxation looms. It’s engrained in the modern anglers’ DNA to transfer thoughts across to fishing. The stream becomes your cubicle, the overgrown bush-track is your highway. The lake is your oval and the creek is your office building down-pipe, although unlike the down-pipe, the constant trickle of water instills comfort, rather than insanity. The currawong is your ringtone and the mayfly, your peak-hour traffic. It’s that feeling of escapism that the two-day break provides, the reminder that for many, working is out of necessity, purely to support the idea of living. Give it up for Friday.
Peak-hour on the weekend…

Thanks Mark, every weekend it gets us, every time! Quite certain there’s a currawong image in the archives somewhere – will try and hunt it down!
