The brown trout fishing season recently opened in Tasmania and already there has been some real brutes encountered at various waterways. Anything over 10lb is generally considered a ‘trophy fish’ almost globally, and many of the following fish are above that. One fish in particular tipped the scales at over 27lb!! Massive. These photos are not mine, but sourced via Tasmania’s largest online fishing community – Sports Fish Tasmania. Check ’em out! Not all fish caught on the fly and not all fish appear to be released, but no harm in sharing. Special thanks to forum members: Tyenna Dave, TasTrophy and Spastic on Plastic for the use of these images.
