To watch fish feeding naturally is quite mesmerising. Especially when feeding on mayfly spinners. Completely switched on to the source, tracking individual mayflies and improvising their beat to the insect dance. I’ve found myself in a few situations recently without a rod, but camera firmly in hand. This is positive, as it has forced me to be patient and observe. Also to shoot with the lens, not the wrist!
